Milk Chocolate-Walnut Toffee

Based on this recipe from Betty Crocker.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) of butter
- 2 TBL light corn syrup
- 2 TBL water
- 2 cups walnuts, toasted and chopped
- 1 1/4 cups (oz) of milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line a half sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Combine sugar, butter, corn syrup in a heavy sauce pan.
- Heat mixture over medium-high heat until boiling.
- Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly until mixture registers 300° on a candy thermometer, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in 1 cup of the walnuts.
- Immediately pour mixture into prepared pan. Spread to 1/4" thickness.
- Sprinkle top with chocolate chips and wait for them to soften.
- Spread chocolate evenly over toffee.
- Sprinkle remaining 1 cup walnuts over chocolate.
- Let stand for about an hour to set up. Break into pieces.
