From the Cook's Countries Goody Goody Bars recipe.

Makes 24 bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup salted dry-roasted peanuts, chopped
  • 6 cups cornflakes
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted

Instructions

  1. Grease 13x9 inch baking pan.
  2. Bring sugar and corn syrup to simmer in large pot.
  3. Off heat, add peanut butter and peanuts, stirring until smooth.
  4. Add cornflakes and stir until incorporated.
  5. Scrape mixture into prepared pan and press into bottom and corners with greased spatula.
  6. Microwave chocolate chips until melted.
  7. Drizzle melted chocolate over top and spread to cover.
  8. Let cool completely, about 30 minutes. Slice and serve.

Bars can be stored in airtight container for 2 days.
